Let’s start with a quick review. Facebook was founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg. He built the social networking platform out of his college dorm room as a platform, exclusively for Harvard University students. However, it was such a hit, that Zuckerberg quickly offered access to other universities in Boston. He then went on to provide access to other Ivy League schools and Facebook has not looked back since.

In 2006, Facebook opened up access to anybody over the age of 13. From there, its user growth has absolutely exploded.

Today, Facebook is the biggest social media site in the world with more than 2.23 billion people using it every month. To put things into perspective, that’s approximately one-third of the world’s population.  To further understand the kind of reach it has, about 76% of Facebook users report that they use daily; 55% of users visit several times a day and 22% visit about once per day.

Facebook added a 100 million monthly active users from December 2017 to June 30, 2018. The number of active users grew from 2.13 billion to 2.23 billion in a span of six months. By the end of 2018, Facebook’s monthly active user count was 2.35 billion. Mark Zuckerberg announced reaching the 2 billion milestones in June 2018.

The year 2018 was not a good one for Facebook as the number of local users dropped from an all-time high of 83.1% in May 2018 to 59.8% by December 2018.

However, the number of Facebook users has been predicted to hit around 3.47 million in 2022.  Recently, the Singapore government has signed an agreement with Facebook to place approximately 143,000 civil servants on Facebook Workplace.  Facebook provides a platform that is good for news, entertainment-related content, updates of events, new places in the cities of the audience, news about one’s loved ones. However, Facebook Groups are a better way to engage your audience compared to Facebook Pages as group users can communicate and express their opinion more freely as compared to Pages. 

What makes your content to go viral? 

The answer is simple. Marketers do not make it obvious that they are doing marketing.  Instead of the usual sales language, they strategize in creating relationships with their customers. This includes creating an emotional connection with potential followers/audiences. Doing this will increase trust with customers and the conversion of potential to actual begins. Creating a budget and a list of requirements helps you ensure that neither time nor money is wasted on tools and social media platforms that will not work for you and your brand/business.

Very well conveyed but as what you mentioned that people have been using snapchat and Instagram, I believe somewhere down the line WhatsApp Messenger is doing much better than all three.

And drop in usage of Facebook is bcoz of breach of privacy of one consumers.

Regarding the estimation of Facebook 3.47million in 2022 , one should be surprised if it’s reaches that due to all the glitches issue that is occurring in Facebook.
